How the XXX compares with a Light Bee and a Sting
To sell your Talaria XXX, it helps to know where it sits. It's the lighter Talaria and the closest in size and weight to a Sur-Ron Light Bee X. Its pack is 60V 40Ah, built from LG 21700 cells and about 2.4kWh, much like a later Light Bee's. So we price a genuine XXX the way we'd price a Light Bee, and the pack comes first.
Next to the Sting and Sting R it's the smaller, lower-spec bike, so expect a slightly lower figure than for a Sting in similar shape.

XXX controller swaps
An aftermarket controller can add a lot of power; give us the make and setup. Whatever controller is fitted, an off-road XXX stays off-road.
Replacement packs on an X3
Replaced or upgraded pack? Its make and age matter, and receipts help. Branded packs help. Unknown ones, much less.
XXX forks and brakes
Upgrades here don't put us off, and if the forks have been serviced, the receipt adds a little.

Checking a 2.4kWh XXX pack
How old is the pack, and has it ever sat flat for long? Roughly how many charges? If the range has shrunk, say so. Send a photo of the display on a full charge.

XXX paperwork and grey imports
Every XXX sale starts with ID and proof of purchase. Then there's the 17-character VIN on the frame near the headstock, which should match your invoice and, on an L1E, the V5C.
Some XXXs came from overseas online sellers instead of a UK dealer. We'll still buy one if you have the order confirmation and a payment record, and the VIN matches the bike. We can't buy one whose VIN is missing or altered, or doesn't match. Nor a copy sold as a Talaria. Unsure? Tell us before we come out.

Where you can ride an XXX
Most Sur-Ron, Talaria, Stark Varg and E Ride Pro models are not road legal. They're for private land with the landowner's permission, and tracks. We never suggest riding a non-road-legal bike on public roads.
Of the XXX family, only a registered X3 L1E can use the road. Derestricting an L1E means it no longer counts as road legal, so let us know if that's happened. It's the law that covers Sur-Rons too, as our guide to UK road law for XXX and Sur-Ron riders explains.

Is the XXX worth less than a Sting?
Usually a little, as it's the smaller, lower-spec bike. A healthy pack and clean paperwork can close the gap.
I bought my XXX second-hand with no receipt. Can I sell it?
Possibly. We need evidence it's yours, such as your bank transfer to the seller or their written receipt, and we check the VIN.
Can an XXX go on the road?
Only a registered X3 L1E with a V5C. The standard off-road bike can't.
Is an X3 the same as an XXX?
Yes. Talaria sells the same bike under both names, and you may also see the code TL2500.
