The farm quads we see most

If you want to sell your farm quad, the make and model is the first thing we'll ask. It's usually on the side panels or the rear mudguard. If the stickers have long gone, photograph the quad side-on plus its frame number stamping and we'll work it out.

Honda TRX 420 and TRX 500

You'll find more of these on UK farms than anything else. The TRX 420 FourTrax (sold in the US as the Rancher) is the lighter all-rounder. The Foreman and Rubicon are the bigger 500s.

Yamaha's pair: Grizzly and Kodiak

It's common to find both in one yard. The Grizzly is the better-equipped one; the Kodiak is plainer and cost less new.

Suzuki KingQuad

Livestock farms run a lot of them. The manual KingQuad 400 suits anyone who'd rather have a proper gearbox.

The heavy towers

Kawasaki's Brute Force and Prairie turn up on farms and estates, and so do the Polaris Sportsman and Can-Am Outlander. They often get the heavy towing jobs. We buy them all.

Hard-worked is fine

Farm quads work for a living, and we price them that way. Nobody expects a clean one. Bent racks are normal on a quad that has done ten winters on a hill, and so are faded plastics.

On a farm machine it's the hour meter that counts. Give us the reading and a list of jobs it needs. If the 4WD is playing up or the gearbox jumps out of gear, say so. That gets priced in, and that's it.

Collected from the farm

We come to you with a trailer and a winch, and collecting a farm quad costs you nothing.

Getting a trailer to it

Tell us about the access. A narrow lane or a soft track changes how we plan it, and so does a low barn door, but you don't need to drag the quad up to the road for us.

Our base is in Kent, where quads earn their keep, and in the Weald they run between hop gardens and small livestock farms all year. On Romney Marsh they're out with the sheep. Fruit farms have them, and so does the arable land of East Kent. Farms over the border in Sussex get the same free collection.

Farm sale or retirement? We'll take more than one

Clearing the yard before a retirement? Send us the list. We can price each machine on its own or the lot together, and collect in one trip where we can. A Kubota RTV or a John Deere Gator can go on the same list, so one call clears the shed.

Paperwork for farm quads

Most farm quads were never registered, so there's no V5C. That's normal. We'll still want your ID and some proof you own it, and we check the frame number before paying.

No V5C? Invoice or dealer receipt

The original dealer invoice is best. Failing that, a finance settlement letter helps, or an insurance schedule that lists the quad. Sometimes the dealer still has it on their records. A road-registered farm quad should come with its V5C.

Farm business as the owner

Plenty of farm quads belong to a partnership or a limited company. Those are fine. Show us the business owns it (an invoice in the business name, say) and that you're allowed to sell on its behalf. Tell us in the form and we'll let you know exactly what to have ready.
