Why high-hour Pioneers still sell
If you want to sell a Honda Pioneer, start with the drivetrain, because that's what buyers trust. Most UTVs drive through a CVT belt that wears and slips. Pioneers don't. The 500 and 520 have a proper geared box. The 700 is an automatic with a torque converter, and the 1000 uses Honda's dual clutch, which means fewer wear parts and a well-used Pioneer that's still worth buying.
Before paying, we still drive it through the gears and try the 4WD and diff lock before we pay. Plenty of hours, on its own, won't put us off.
Fold-out seats and why they matter
Honda calls it QuickFlip: seats on the 700-4 and 1000-5 that fold out of the cargo bed. Fold them away and you've got a full tipping bed for work, or flip them up for the family or a shooting party. More people want a Pioneer that can do both, so seats that work add value. A stiff hinge or a missing seat belt just gets priced in.
What's a Honda Pioneer worth?
Top of the pile is a late 1000-5 with a cab and low hours. Next comes a 700-4 whose seats still work. A 500 that's done years of yard work sits lower, though its geared box keeps buyers interested.
