Sell your Yamaha Viking
Sell your Yamaha Viking. That covers the three-abreast work UTV and the six-seat Viking VI that carries a whole shoot team. We check the belt and every seat before collecting.
Which Yamaha Viking have you got?
Count the seats first. That tells us most of what we need.

What affects a Yamaha Viking's price
Viking hour reading
Read the hours off the display with the key on. That figure matters more to us than the year.
Winter cab for shoot days
Pheasant season runs through the winter, so a full cab that keeps guns dry is worth the most. A roof and screen still help.
Six seats on the Viking VI
Shoots and estates buy Viking VIs to carry a full team. Every seat and every seat belt gets checked.
Off-road Vikings and the odd V5C
Almost every Viking works off the road. Where one has been registered, hand us the V5C with it.
Ultramatic belt and diff lock
The belt wears, so any record of belt and oil changes helps. On the day we try each On-Command mode, diff lock included.
Viking or Viking VI: which layout?
If you want to sell a Yamaha Viking, the seat count is the big thing. The standard Viking seats three side by side on one bench, with the middle seat set back a little so shoulders don't clash. It's a work machine with a tipping bed.
The Viking VI stretches the wheelbase to fit two rows of three. On a shoot day that's a team of guns plus a picker-up in one vehicle. Shoots want them for exactly that reason.
EPS and SE versions
EPS adds electric power steering. SE adds extra kit such as alloy wheels. Both usually lift the price, as long as the steering is light when you turn the wheel at walking pace and the extras are all still there.
What's a Yamaha Viking worth?
Most money: a Viking VI EPS with a full cab and low hours. Then a three-seat EPS Viking. A non-EPS machine that's done years of estate work sits lower, and if another shoot would pay you more for it, we'll say so.
Viking VIN and the shoot's paperwork
The VIN is stamped into the Viking's frame and printed on the V5C or dealer invoice. If it's hidden, a photo of the paperwork will do until we arrive. Before paying for any Viking we check your ID and match the stamped VIN to the paperwork.
Plenty of Vikings are owned by a shoot syndicate or an estate, sometimes a farm business. That's fine. We just need to see that whoever's selling has the authority to do so.
Collecting a Viking from the estate
We'll collect from the estate yard or the game larder at no charge. Payment goes before we load it. A Viking with a snapped belt or a flat battery is fine: see how we take non-running machines, or start a Viking offer.
Got a Yamaha quad on the shoot as well? See how we buy Yamaha quads. For a Wolverine, the sport buggy and side-by-side page is the place. We also take the John Deere Gator, the Polaris Ranger work UTV, the Mule from Kawasaki and every other make of UTV.

Selling a Yamaha Viking: your questions
Do you buy the six-seat Viking VI?
We do. Photos of both rows of seats help us price it.
Do you buy the Wolverine?
Those too. It's more sport than work, so it has its own place on our buggy page.
Is EPS worth more?
Usually, yes. Say whether the steering feels light and whether the EPS warning clears.
Is a slipping Viking belt worth fixing before I sell?
Not usually. Tell us how it behaves and we'll factor a replacement belt into the figure.
Can a shoot or estate sell a Viking to you?
It can. We'll need to see you're allowed to sign for it, along with the usual ID and proof of ownership.
